Good Morning Boston I am from Düsseldorf/Germany and the localpress here wrote that Matt Herr was transfered to the DEG METRO STARS. Do you know something about that ? Besides this it would nice to hear some informations about his skills. I´ve already seen Stats , but I think oppinions from the Fans are much better. Sorry for my bad englisch and nice greetz to Boston ! PS: Can someone ask for me in the official Bruins Board , I cant register me there. Of course only when nobody here can help me.

Hello, sorry it took so long for me too reply Been real busy. First off, welcome to the board! Secondly, I haven't heard this it might be a big hoax, but anyway... I really liked Matt Herr. I am not the one to give you a huge descrption of his weaknesses and strengths but he is a darn good hockey player and I thought for sure that he would make the Bruins team this year. Hope you come back to read this post. Once again I am sorry to be posting this so late.

Hi Bruins-Fans! Greetz from Düsseldorf / Germany. Today the local hockey club DEG Metro Stars announced that Matt Herr signed a one-year-contract. Further details weren't made public. Club officials said that Herr will arrive next monday here in Germany.
There was no comment about the WHA-Draft. Can anybody give some informations how likely it is that the WHA will play a season? And can you imagine Herr breaking his contract in Düsseldorf to play in Dallas? We don't get many informations about the possible NHL-Lock out and the effects it could have...
Thanks

Hi Oliver welcome to the board.
I think you mean the AHL, and Matt Herr plays for Providence i nthe AHL.
The lock-out wont have anything to do with the contract unless it was in the contract. This relates to it a little
Joe THornton, our star center, signed a contract with a Switzerland team but if the NHL dosen't lock out then he if free to re-join the Bruins. I don't know if Matt Herr can do the same.
Hope this helps.

Hi! Thanks for the answer. Will the WHA play a season or not? I am whondering because Herr was drafted by the Dallas-Team of the WHA. And here in Germany we don't have a lot informations about the WHA ...

If I were a betting man I'd say the WHA might play a season but there'll be very little chance that it will be players with Euro contracts playing in it...
